元千葉ロッテマリーンズ捕手の里崎智也さんの書籍、「エリートの倒し方」を読みました。

里崎さんがバラエティー番組やラジオ番組に出演しているのを最近よく見かけます。歯に衣着せぬ物言いで、話が面白いです。ちなみに私は大阪出身で大阪住みですが、千葉ロッテファンです。ムラがあるチームですが、ノリ出すと止まらないマリンガン打線が大好きです。

そんな里崎さんの本が書店に置いていたので、ついつい買ってしまいました。気軽に買いましたが読んでみると最近、仕事が怠慢になりかけている自分に活を入れてくれる一冊でした。

「エリートの倒し方」は野球の技術本ではありません。ビジネス書です。

僕が極めようとしてきたことは、皆さんの仕事に役立つと確信しているから。

里崎さんは入団した時に周りとのレベルの差にショックを受けたようです。自分はエリートではなかったと。しかし、そんな能力の高いエリートと勝負して、勝ち残らなければいけません。「レギュラーを取るための戦略」、「史上最大の下克上までの戦略」どのような考えで勝ち上がってきたのかを教えてくれる里崎流の思考術です。

野球を知らない、見ないという方でも全然大丈夫です。なんせビジネス本ですから。文字数も少ないので、気軽に簡単に読めてしまいます。私は面白かったので１日で読みました。

仕事に対する自分の考え方に気づかされる。

勝ち越すには来たチャンスをつかむだけではなく、頭を使って、つくらなくてはならないのです。

上手くなるためには試合に多く出ないといけない。里崎さんは自分の状況とチームの状況を把握して、どうすれば自分を試合で使ってもらえるかを冷静に分析されています。

里崎さんはいろんな所で出演をされていますが、野球番組の出演やラジオ番組などの席は少なく、仕事の取り合いだそうです。そこで里崎さんは「自分はこんな仕事をしたい」と周りに言ってアピールするようです。言わないと伝わらない。そして、仕事は断らない。そうする事で仕事は増えていく。

私は仕事に慣れて結果も残せるようになり満足していました。仕事を必要以上に取りにいかないばかりか、「この仕事は嫌だなあ」とか「この仕事は苦手だなあ」と選んた始末。そこでこの言葉はずっしり来ました。

ここで断ると次の仕事がないかもしれないという危機感がなかった。新人の頃はどんな仕事でも積極的に受けていた気持ちを思い出しました。いつ何時でも仕事は自分で取りに行かないといけないですね。

わかる人やできる人に聞くことが成長の近道であること。悩む時間を練習に当てる方が効果的だと言われています。仕事で自分のやり方にこだわって失敗した経験や簡単なことに悩み時間を無駄にしてしまった経験はあります。。。

耳が痛かった。

考え抜く事ももちろん大切ですが、できる人に教えてもらうという謙虚な姿勢を持ち、変なプライドは捨てた方がいいと反省しました。

まとめ

あまり書くとネタバレになってしまいますので、ここまでにしておきます。

里崎さんは失敗を恐れていません。常に前向きで貪欲です。怠慢になっていた私には里崎さんに「そんな低いレベルで満足しててもいいの？」と言われている気分でした。

この本には「日替わり打線のメリット」や「バレンタイン監督がどのような考えで戦っていたのか」など、まだまだ面白い話もあります。

仕事にやる気が出ないやモチベーションを上げていきたい人は是非読んでみてください。
